About us: Knitting Legacy and Innovation
A Tapestry of Time: From “Silva” to Omniteksas
In the intricate world of textiles, Omniteksas stands as a testament to a rich heritage and a commitment to sustainable innovations. The story begins in 1928 when the foundation for Omniteksas was laid with the creation of the iconic jersey fabric named “Silva.” Little did the founders know that this would mark the beginning of a legacy that would knit through the century.
In 1975, “Silva” underwent a significant transformation, reorganizing into what would become the most modern and largest jersey merger in the former Soviet Union. This pivotal moment set the stage for the company’s growth and prominence in the textile industry.
Fast forward to 2001, “Silva” evolved further, transforming into Ltd “Omniteksas” and Ltd “Tributum” (now known as Ltd “Omniteksas Fabrics”). This era marked a strategic shift, setting the tone for the company’s trajectory in the new millennium. Two textile experts experienced in jersey knitting took the charge of Omniteksas and pushed it to become one of the leading vertically integrated organizations in Europe.
In 2005, Omniteksas spread its wings internationally by acquiring the Swedish knitting company “Vasa trika.” This move not only expanded the company’s reach but also brought diverse expertise into its fold. The year 2015 witnessed two even more significant acquisitions – “Elzer” and “Gustafson & Sala.” These strategic additions further solidified Omniteksas as a global player, fostering a fusion of skills and knowledge from different corners of the textile landscape.
What sets Omniteksas apart is not just its legacy but the people who breathe life into the company. Omniteksas takes pride in having a minimal staff turnover. The reason might be that the company, now boasting a team of 450 dedicated employees, is not just a workplace but a closely-knit community.
Shared knowledge and generations of artisans
As in any real family, the journey at Omniteksas is a tapestry of experiences – a place where individuals learn, grow, and occasionally face challenges. Yet, united by a shared vision, the Omniteksas family continues to knit together a story that spans generations and stitches innovation into the fabric of time.
Welcome to Omniteksas, where every yarn tells a story, and every story is a testament to our commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and the enduring spirit of family.
